Membership Obligations

Obligations of Membership

Members have certain duties and obligations to maintain and uphold, especially if representing the Association on relevant affairs.

1) Compliance with Regulations governing the Industry-

It is a fundamental requirement that all members be in compliance with relevant National and European Union Legislation. Should any member be found to be in flagrant breach and disregard of such regulations, then their membership of the Association would be questioned at the next available meeting of the Association.

2) Payment of Fees-

The Association is a non profit making organisation with all its surplus funds being re-employed in Association activities or invested for the benefit of all the membership. The directors of the Association receive no payments, nor do any office bearers with the exception of the Executive Secretary. However fees are required for the maintenance of Association activities which occur throughout Europe. It is therefore imperative that fees are promptly paid and any member organisation failing to pay such fees within 3 months of original dispatch of invoice, interest charges and administrative costs will be levied. Continued non payment will result in the member being named at the subsequent Annual General Meeting, and if fees are not paid within 3 months of that AGM, the member may be asked to resign from the Association.

3) Attendance at meetings-

All full members are expected to attend at least one meeting a year, preferably the AGM.

4) Conduct-

Member companies and their representatives are expected to uphold the law and all voluntary agreements, including its Antitrust/ Competition Policy, entered into by the Association on their behalf. To knowingly disregard legal requirements and voluntary codes may result in the member company being suspended and perhaps required to resign from the Association.

Member companies are also expected not to use the Association or reference to the Association for commercial purposes.

Member companies, especially members representing the Association on business, are expected to maintain the highest standards of decorum and professionalism.

5) Publications-

EOSCA supports its members in publishing material of scientific and commercial interest to a wide audience. In doing so, members are obligated to inform EOSCA, where relevant, that they wish to publish material and in particular where such material has been derived from EOSCA supported and / or funded projects.
